Husky memory

Come for the sledding.

Leave with a new understanding of dogs—and maybe of yourself.

A Private Journey into the World of Sled Dogs

Husky Memory is our most exclusive dog sledding experience – a private journey, created for those who want more than a short ride behind a team of huskies.

🐾 Drive Your Own Team. Go Further.🐾

Take the runners of your own sled and spend real time travelling with the dogs through the Arctic wilderness.

This is a longer journey, taking us far beyond the kennel and into a landscape of frozen rivers, snow-covered forests and wide-open spaces. When weather and trail conditions allow, we continue up onto the mountain plateau, where the forest disappears behind us and the views open towards the surrounding mountains.

With only your private party and our guides, there is no need to follow the pace of a larger group. The day, the route and the experience can be adapted to you, the dogs and the conditions.

But Husky Memory is about more than the distance we travel.

You will get to know the dogs you share the trail with, work together as a team and, when we return to the kennel, take part in their recovery through our much-loved dog massage.

This is not an ordinary dog sledding tour. It is a full day with the dogs – on the trail, at the kennel and as part of their world.

Drive Your Own Dog Team into the Arctic Wilderness

You’ll drive your own dog team on a longer journey through the Arctic landscape surrounding our kennel. We travel across frozen wetlands and rivers, through snow-covered forests and out into the vast wilderness, with the mountains rising on the horizon.

When weather and snow conditions allow, we leave the forest behind and make our way up onto the open mountain plateau – a completely different landscape, with wide views, deep silence and a true sense of being far away from everything.

Two people share each dog team, taking turns driving and riding in the sled. This is a tour for those who want to spend real time out with the dogs rather than simply try dogsledding for a short while. The route is always adapted to the conditions of the day, the dogs and the guests.

Out here, we rarely meet anyone else. It’s just you, the dogs and the sound of the sled moving through the snow.

    Dog Massage & Recovery Care

Back at the kennel, the experience with your team continues. After working together out on the trail, it is time to give something back.

You’ll learn how to massage the dogs you have shared the journey with, helping them relax and recover after their run. It is an important part of how we care for our dogs – but also a wonderful opportunity to slow down, spend quiet time together and get to know the individual dogs behind the team.

For many of our guests, this becomes one of the most memorable parts of the experience.

Optional: Mindfulness & Animal Welfare – 1 hour

For guests who would like to understand more about the philosophy behind Husky Home, you can add a one-hour session focusing on mindfulness, stress and animal welfare.

We explore how our own state of mind affects the animals around us, how we can recognise signs of stress and well-being, and how calm presence can help build trust and communication.

We also talk about sled dog welfare: How can we tell whether a dog enjoys the work? What do we look for in everyday life, training and recovery? And how can we create an environment where dogs are seen as individuals rather than simply as part of a team?

The session is held in our Mindfulness Tipi and is shaped around the interests and questions of the guests.

    The guide

Ylva Forssén has over 20 years of dog experience, mainly in bird hunting and sled dogs. She is well educated in many disciplines and a dog psychologist. She has a Crossfields Institute level 3 diploma in mindfulness for people with their animals: Trust Technique Practitioner. Using mindfulness in daily training she creates a stress-free environment at the kennel. It can also help you who have problems with your dog to build a new relationship and trouble-free everyday life.
